0 Une étude menée par l'équipe de Bradley Sack (Baltimore) sur deux groupes de voyageurs au Mexique a permis de prouver l'efficacité d'un antibiotique type tetracycline (la doxycycline) prise « en couverture » pendant tout le séjour. Mais cet antibiotique possède un inconvénient majeur : il semble favoriser particulièrement l'émergence de souches multirésistantes à divers antibiotiques.
